Since the establishment in 1951, UIBE has been steadfast in living up to its motto of “Erudition, Honesty, Endeavor and Perfection” through constant diligence and innovation. With efforts of generations of UIBERs, UIBE has gradually formed distinguished schooling features and disciplinary advantage, accomplished its resplendence. Facing the construction goals of building a well-off society in an all round way in the new times and accelerating the new situation of socialist modernization, UIBE sticks to the connotative development road, advocates the spirit of pursuing excellence and creating boutique, and makes building a high-level distinctive university with significantly enhanced international competitiveness and influence its long-term vision and historic mission.
The School of Public Administration, established in 1974, whose predecessor is the department of customs administration, was the only university that could confer bachelor degree of customs management education at that time. With 40 years’ development, the School has shaped complete subject development sequence, and bachelor’s, master’s and doctor’s degree training system to cultivate public administration talents, and strived to build “one of the most distinctive school of public administration in China”.
The School of Public Administration makes full use of the subject advantages of UIBE in economics, management, foreign languages, law, and so on to cultivate foreign public sector and foreign economic sector civil servants, and senior management talents in export-oriented enterprises. Over the past 40 years, the graduates of our School are actively working in foreign trade, customs, finance, and culture government sectors and relevant enterprises and public institutions, making prominent contribution to the opening up and social and economic development in China.
The School of Public Administration has constantly valued alumni, and it established alumni office in 2011. The purpose of alumni office is to unite and communicate, constantly improve, expand resources, and promote common development. On the basis of playing the role of traditional alumni social institutions, alumni office actively builds and provides the platform of added-value service for the alumni. Strengthening the sense of belonging and achievement of alumni to the mother university; building intimate and active alumni network, and promoting alumni and school’s common development; expanding social resources, co-building cooperation channel, and helping alumni gain a successful career and happy life.
